北京大学第三医院全科医学科始建于2019年4月，是在国家大力推进全科医学事业发展和全科医学人才培养的大前提下而诞生的。2019年12月获得北京市卫计委的批准，成为北京大学第三医院最为年轻的临床学科。全科医学科主任为肖卫忠教授。
全科医学的是面向社区与家庭，整合临床医学、预防医学、康复医学以及人文社会学科相关内容于一体的综合性医学专业学科，向全社会提供的持续性和综合性的健康照顾。在此基础上，北京大学第三医院全科医学科在全科医学范畴内的全面开展医疗、教学和科研工作。
北京大学第三医院全科医学科以中央党校院区和第二门诊部为基地。目前拥有全科门诊、全科病房和相配套的医技科室。全科医学科分别在医院本部、中央党校院区和第二门诊部均设立全科门诊，为病人提供以慢性诊治和慢病管理为核心的医疗服务。全科病房（全科医学与综合内科病房）设在中央党校院区，拥有20张床位，主要收治跨学科多病共存的慢性病病人，提供评估、治疗、教育和康复的综合性服务。
北京大学第三医院全科医学科承担北京大学全科医学专业学位研究生的培养工作，为北京市全科医学住院医师规范化培训专业基地之一。

General medicine department of Peking University Third Hospital
General medicine department of Peking University Third Hospital was founded in April 2019. It was born on the premise of the national efforts to promote the development of general medicine and the cultivation of general practitioners. In December 2019, it was approved by Beijing Municipal Commission of health and family planning, becoming the youngest clinical discipline in the Third Hospital of Peking University. The director of general practice is Professor Xiao Weizhong.
General medicine is a comprehensive medical discipline that integrates clinical medicine, preventive medicine, rehabilitation medicine and humanities and social sciences to provide sustainable and comprehensive health care for the whole society. On this basis, general medicine department of Peking University Third Hospital carries out comprehensive medical treatment, teaching and scientific research in the field of general medicine.
General medicine department of Peking University Third Hospital is based on the Central Party school and the second outpatient department. At present, it has general clinic, general ward and corresponding medical technology department. General practice clinics are set up in the hospital headquarters, the Central Party school district and the second outpatient department to provide patients with medical services with chronic diagnosis and treatment and chronic disease management as the core. The general practice ward (general practice and comprehensive medicine ward) is located in the Central Party School District, with 20 beds. It is mainly used for the treatment of chronic disease patients with multidisciplinary coexistence, and provides comprehensive services for evaluation, treatment, education and rehabilitation.
General medicine department of Peking University Third Hospital undertakes the training of postgraduates majoring in general medicine of Peking University, and is one of the professional bases for standardized training of general practitioners in Beijing.
General medicine department of Peking University Third Hospital will pursue the social responsibility and professional mission of general medicine, provide high-level medical and health services for the masses of the people, cultivate more high-quality and high-level general practitioners for the country, and play a role in promoting the development of general medicine in China.
